Riyadh hosted, at the end of last week (from 27–29 / 6 / 1434 AH الموافق to 7–9 / 5 / 2013), the activities and sessions of the Coordinating Forum for Universities and Institutions Concerned with the Arabic Language in the GCC States, held at King Faisal Conference Hall in the InterContinental Hotel. Dar Almandumah was invited to present its pioneering experience in building and developing Arabic databases, which have become a primary source for Arabic research and studies in Gulf and Arab universities.

The paper was presented by Dr. Ali bin Shuwaish Al-Shuwaish, General Manager of the company. In his presentation, he reviewed the current state of Arabic content on the internet, especially scholarly content, then addressed the historical development of this pioneering project at the Arab and regional levels. He also highlighted the difficulties and challenges the project faced and how they were overcome. Finally, the paper discussed the strong success and broad reach that Dar Almandumah databases have achieved across the Gulf and the Arab world over the past years.
