The Egyptian Library and Information Association, in cooperation with Misr Public Library at Al-Zawiya Al-Hamra in Cairo, organized its 19th National Conference from September 20 to 22, 2016, in Cairo, under the title “The Role of Libraries and Information Centers in National Development,” with the theme “The Library as a Pillar of Development,” under the patronage of Ambassador Raouf El-Reedy, Chairman of the Board of Misr Public Library, and with the participation of researchers from various Arab countries and professors of library and information departments at Egyptian universities.
Dar Almandumah has made it a yearly tradition to sponsor the conference and present an award for the best research paper. During this conference, the award was presented to the two best papers nominated by the conference’s scientific committee.
Dar Almandumah also participated with a booth at the conference, which attracted strong interest from participants and visitors, as Dar Almandumah databases are the only Arabic databases currently available throughout the Arab Republic of Egypt through the “Egyptian Knowledge Bank Project,” launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on November 14, 2015.
