As part of its efforts to build bridges with Turkish libraries, which have recently shown strong interest in acquiring Arabic academic information sources, especially in Islamic studies and language studies, Dar Almandumah participated as a Gold Sponsor in the annual conference of the Turkish library consortium ANKOS, held annually in Antalya, Turkey, from April 7 to 9, 2016.
This participation in the annual conference, which the consortium refers to as “ANKOS Link”, came out of Dar Almandumah’s desire to connect with its current and future clients. Dar Almandumah already serves a number of Turkish universities and academic institutions, and this conference provided an opportunity to meet them and strengthen relationships with them more closely.
During the conference, meetings were held with the senior management of the Turkish consortium, represented by Mr. Sami Kokader, President of the consortium. It was agreed with His Excellency the President that Dar Almandumah’s databases would be included in the consortium’s subscription list for the following year, 2017, after completion of the formal membership procedures.

Dar Almandumah also reaffirmed its strong desire and commitment to engaging actively with the Turkish academic community and addressing the urgent need for comprehensive Arabic information resources that can be relied upon by students and researchers at Turkish universities, which number nearly 200 public and private institutions. It is hoped that this step will open the door widely to entry into other global academic communities as well.
