Dar Almandumah participated last week in the activities of the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information (A’lam) conference, held in Doha from November 18 to 20, with strong attendance from across the Arab world.
The company’s booth attracted remarkable interest, especially with the presentation of its two newly launched databases, introduced recently in Sharm El Sheikh: the Islamic and Legal Studies Database IslamicInfo and the Language, Literature, and Humanities Database AraBase.
His Excellency Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of the State of Qatar, inaugurated the conference and the accompanying exhibition.
During his visit to the company’s booth, Dar Almandumah’s General Manager presented an overview of the databases and the role the company plays in supporting and enriching Arabic scholarly content on the internet.

The company also delivered a presentation on these two databases during the conference sessions, which received strong engagement from attendees and reflected the urgent need within the Arab academic community for specialized databases that bring together dispersed Arabic intellectual output and support it with advanced information technologies aligned with the spirit and requirements of the modern age. Usage and download statistics were also presented, showing more than 1.1 million downloaded research papers and studies during the recent period.
The company additionally offered daily prizes, consisting of iPad 3 devices, to exhibition visitors and conference participants.
