Last Tuesday, 8/3/1432 AH, corresponding to 31/1/2012, an agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Saudi Educational and Psychological Association (JSTEN) at King Saud University in Riyadh for Dar Almandumah to sponsor the JSTEN Book Award.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Association by His Excellency Dr. Rashid bin Hussein Al-Abdulkareem, Chairman of the Association, and on behalf of Dar Almandumah by Dr. Ali bin Shuwaish Al-Shuwaish, the company’s General Manager, in the presence of His Excellency the Award’s Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Hussein, and members of the Association’s Board of Directors.
Following the signing ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Rashid Al-Abdulkareem, Chairman of the Association, stated that this award supports the Association’s objectives of encouraging scientific research in the fields of education and psychology and developing specialized competencies in its areas of focus.
His Excellency the Award’s Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Hussein, also explained that the Association is in the process of forming a scientific committee of specialists to evaluate the submitted books and compare them. The winner is expected to be announced at the upcoming Scientific Associations Forum, sponsored by His Excellency the President of King Saud University, Prof. Abdullah Al-Othman. The winner will be honored with a commemorative shield in addition to a cash prize of fifty thousand Saudi Riyals.
During the same ceremony, another agreement was also signed under which all of the Association’s journals and annual conferences will be made available through the Educational Database EduSearch, making them more accessible to researchers and academics.
