Dar Almandumah participated—for the seventh consecutive year—in the 24th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Special Libraries Association, Arabian Gulf Chapter, held in Muscat from March 6 to 8, 2018, under the title “Big Data and the Prospects of Its Investment: The Road to Knowledge Integration.” Dar Almandumah participated with a dedicated booth as an official sponsor within the exhibition accompanying the conference, which—as usual—attracted notable interest from exhibition visitors and conference participants. Among the most prominent visitors to the booth was the conference patron, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harrasi, Chairman of the Omani Public Authority for Radio and Television, who inaugurated the exhibition accompanied by a number of officials, most notably Dr. Ali bin Saud Al-Bimani, President of Sultan Qaboos University.
Dar Almandumah’s booth was also honored by the visit of His Excellency the Saudi Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Eid bin Mohammed Al-Thaqafi, and His Excellency the Cultural Attaché in Oman, Dr. Othman bin Mohammed Al-Qusair. They, along with the attendees, listened to a brief introduction to Dar Almandumah and its role in publishing Arabic scholarly content, as well as the latest services launched that year.
All expressed their admiration and appreciation for the achievements and progress Dar Almandumah has reached in terms of the size and capabilities of its databases, in addition to the major role it plays in supporting researchers and scholarly research across the Arab world.
