Dar Almandumah participated—for the eighth consecutive year—in the 25th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Special Libraries Association, Arabian Gulf Chapter, held in Abu Dhabi from March 5 to 7, 2019, under the title “Internet of Things: The Future of Interconnected Internet Communities.”
Dar Almandumah also participated with a dedicated booth as an official sponsor within the exhibition accompanying the conference, which—as usual—witnessed notable interest from exhibition visitors and conference participants.
Participants expressed their appreciation and admiration for the achievements and progress Dar Almandumah has made in terms of the scale and capabilities of its databases, in addition to the major role it plays in supporting researchers and scholarly research across the Arab world.
Dar Almandumah also presented several awards during the conference, most notably the Personality of the Year Award, which was granted to Professor Mohamed Fathy Abdel Hady in recognition of his distinguished efforts and contributions to the field of library science and scholarly research over the past years.
Student researchers also had a share of these awards, as Dar Almandumah supported and honored student researchers at the conference by presenting the Best Student Paper Award. A number of master’s and doctoral student papers were nominated for this award by the conference’s scientific committee, serving as an incentive and encouragement for the next generation of researchers to enrich the scholarly landscape with distinguished research.
